The remodel of the existing property on 2720 Pinto Lane presented some problems for Michael Gardner and the team. However, the discipline they had to take an existing home and completely remodel the property shows their attention to detail and their will to complete the project without sacrificing their design.
The big thing challenge was a 60 foot by 100 foot by 10 foot deep hole that was cut in the backyard. The original owner was planning on putting a shooting range in the basement, a garage down there with a tennis court over the top. And unfortunately, they ran out of money or decided not to do anything with it so this property was pretty much used as a dump for the last 20-30 years. A lot of people saw it as an added cost and a big pain in the butt to deal with. And here we saw it as an opportunity to do something different and unique for Vegas.
We took a lot of inspiration from the neighborhood. This neighborhood is really kind of an old-school Vegas rural agricultural area, we wanted to keep consistency through the home. You will notice that when you go through the home, there is the same stone inside and outside, the same colors and textures and so we wanted it to feel more like a home rather than a show home.
The interior cabinets are spectacular, Wood Mode did a great job at providing beautiful cabinets that are really unique. Everybody is really excited about the kingspan metal on the exterior it’s really unique. We utilized a new application for the exterior stone. We have received tons of compliments on the design of that and how we installed it in the dry stack configuration. Environmental Stern Works is awesome to work with, their whole crew, the installers have been spectacular.
Everybody that has been a part of this project has been spectacular. We had a vision of creating a rustic, modern, organic composition and everybody’s really seeing it now.
